Good Deeds: Our June Winner!

Swansgate Shopping Centre is thrilled to announce its latest charitable initiative, as July’s Good Deed goes to the esteemed Rushden and Higham Rugby Club. The club has received a donation of £100 from Swansgate on July 6, showcasing the Centre’s commitment to supporting local youth amateur sports.

As a dedicated youth amateur sports club, Rushden and Higham Rugby Club aims to increase its player numbers and enhance the quality of sports equipment used in training. The donation from Swansgate will play a vital role in providing opportunities for aspiring players who may not have had the financial means or previous opportunities to be part of a team.

The club’s spokesperson expressed their gratitude, stating, “We would like to purchase match shirts and equipment to drive the team forward. We are planning a project to recruit and also retain this youth team. We are a community that is one big family on and off the pitch, supporting each other.”

Rushden and Higham Rugby Club actively engages with the community through social media, local businesses, and schools to ensure that everyone feels welcome to join. By focusing on the minis, youth, and senior teams, the club hopes to shape the future of rugby in the region, nurturing a strong sporting culture.

Additionally, part of the donation will be allocated towards the creation of the “Swansgate Man of the Match Trophy,” recognising outstanding performance and sportsmanship within the club. This prestigious award will further inspire and motivate players to reach their full potential on and off the field.

Swansgate Shopping Centre is proud to support the Rushden and Higham Rugby Club’s commitment to fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among local youth. Through initiatives like this, Swansgate continues to make a positive impact on the community it serves.
