We would like to share a story about a very special member of our Swansgate family, Paul. Many of you who frequent the centre may know Paul as a familiar, friendly face among our team, a colleague and friend who has always been an integral part of our community. Recently, Paul and his family received the devastating news of a Stage 4 tonsil cancer diagnosis. As he navigates intensive treatment and the daily challenges that come with such a rapid decline in health, his resilience remains an inspiration to all of us who have had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Paul’s wife, Melissa, and their loved ones are currently exploring every possible avenue to improve his quality of life and gain more precious time together. One such path is a specialised immunotherapy treatment available at a clinic in Germany, which offers a glimmer of hope during this incredibly difficult time. We are sharing Paul’s journey to raise awareness of his situation and the efforts being made to help him access this vital care.
